Active Heave Compensation is used for extending the operating time of a ship and has a positive impact on the dynamic influences the equipment is exposed to during operations at sea.
Active Heave Compensation (AHC) is used for maintaining an immersed load in a fixed position. This could be an underwater vessel to be connected to a TMS (Tether Management System) which would otherwise follow the movements of the vessel and cause damage to the underwater vessel during the docking process. ASME A/S has developed a system which keeps TMS steady in the water column during this operation.
Active Heave Compensation is also used for immersion of concrete bases to the sea bed.
The systems are produced and approved according to DNV lifting appliance No 2.22. |
